Mosxos Evaggelou Tsiakiris (continued)

I received this letter on March 25th 2003 in the envelope shown at right.  I'd noticed that there had been a hit on the submissions page of the web site earlier.  I presume that is where my address was obtained.  You can click on the envelope's image for a larger view.

The picture above shows an enlargement of  the emblem pinned to Tsiakiris' left pocket with a color version of the 15th Infantry's emblem inserted beside it for comparison..

Original photo showing Tsiakiris wearing the Combat Infantry Badge, some Greek ribbons, and another emblem on his left pocket.

The two pictures above show Tsiakiris wearing what appears to be the 15th Infantry emblem on his left pocket.  In the last paragraph of the letter Evagelia writes:

"Those who participated in operation Harry were decorated with the Kandou metal, which means strength in Korean. Many years after that period when I was in Frankfurt West Germany as an emigrant, I saw there the American base of Harry's veterans."

You can  read "Kandou metal" as a phonetic translation of "Can Do Medal".  Another Greek OP Harry survivor said that all Greek soldiers who participated in the battle for the defense of OP Harry were given the 15th Infantry Crest.
