Lt. Daley C Battery, F. D. 39th Field Artillery replaced Lt. Nielsen. Sergeant John Rohrig, M Company 81MM Mortar Forward Observer remembers that Lt. Daly chewed him out because John's boots weren't shined. Later, John got his attention with a "Short Round" Lt. Richards Executive Officer are near the entrance to the company CP. Behind them is a personnel bunker.

K Company Mortars with mess hall at right rear. The K Company Mortars and ammunition bunkers were a few yards behind the MLR and could effectively support Outpost Dick and bring fire on Old Charlie

The K Company Jeep is parked in the rear of the battalion CP where I came for a briefing.

These two South Korean laborers were typical of others used to carry ammunition and other supplies. At night during the month a group of 20 laborers dug a 6-foot deep trench from the MLR to Outpost Dick. To the left of the laborers are a supply bunker and the "Outbunker,"
