I found this safe conduct pass while
walking through
Happy Valley one day. It was one of many that were blowing
around that day. Probably arrived in an artillery or mortar shell. In
light of the documented treatment of POWs by the Chinese and North
Koreans, the words on this document are bitterly ironic. Whenever I
see either of these governments promise anything, I'm reminded of how they
kept the promises made on this leaflet. They have no honor.
