OPHSA 18th Annual Reunion, 2009

Members and guests
attended the 18th annual reunion of the Outpost Harry Survivors
Association held from June 11th through June 14th at the Hyatt Regency
Dearborn.
Many arrived before the reunion, and stayed afterward making sightseeing
trips in the Detroit MI area.

Social
Reception -- Following individual
registrations,
members gathered for a reception in the Regency Ball Room for
socializing.

Evening Event
-- Following the Social Reception the attendees gathered in the
Banquet Room for a Buffet Dinner and the evening's events.

Friday
- June 12, 2009
- Free Day
-- All participants had a free day Friday to explore the greater
Detroit Michigan area. The hospitality room was open for relaxed socialization
during the day and evening.

Saturday - June 13, 2009
- Memorial
Service and Business
Meeting
- Each year during the reunion a special memorial service is held honoring
fallen comrades.
- Following the Memorial Service, President John Ferrara conducted the membership
meeting. Following the invocation given by Chaplain Ed Hanrahan, the prior
minutes and financial reports given by Secretary Treasurer E. Douglas Jones showed
the association to be liquid were approved. The usual business matters were
quickly covered.
Jerry Cunningham explained that due to lowering
attendance and travel difficulties for members, that he would only have two
more reunions. Plans for the next reunion, to be held in the same
hotel, the Hyatt Regency Dearborn with the final, 20th reunion to be held at
Fort Stewart at Savannah GA -- where the first reunion was held. Details for these
last two reunions will be in future Survivor newsletters as they
become available.
Several options to continue reunions were discussed and a motion was made to
have a committee look into and suggest other options. Again, details will
be printed in future Survivor newsletters as they become available.

Preview of the Outpost Harry
documentary Hold at All Costs
A preview and discussion of the in-process Outpost Harry documentary Hold
at All Costs was presented by Glenn Smith in the afternoon.

Banquet
-- The day ended with a banquet, a speech by Major General Tony Cupolo, and the awards
ceremony.
