The OPHSA 15th Annual Reunion, 2006

Members and guests attended the 15th annual reunion of the Outpost Harry Survivors Association held from June 15th through June 18th at the Marriot Hotel in downtown Des Moines Iowa.

Audio Files - The audio files are password protected and are in two formats, wma and mp3.  The wma is a Microsoft format.  The mp3 files are more universal, and should work with an Apple computer.

Thursday - June 15, 2006

• Welcome Reception -- Following individual registrations, members gathered for a Welcome Reception which was held for all attendees. The Association provided a complimentary buffet meal. The speaker for the evening was David Mills.

• Bus tour of Des Moines IA-- City and Museum Tour of the Des Moines area with stops at the Fort Des Moines Memorial museum, the Iowa State Capitol grounds and the Iowa Gold Star Museum.

• Evening Hospitality Room -- The hospitality room was open for relaxed socialization
  

• Memorial Service -- Each year during the reunion a special memorial service is held honoring fallen comrades.  
  
  
• Business Meeting -- President Claude Williams conducted the membership meeting. Following the invocation given by Chaplain Ed Hanrahan, the prior minutes reported by Secretary E. Douglas Jones and Treasurer G. Samuel Buck's financial report showing the association to be liquid were approved. The usual business matters were quickly covered and the election of officers was conducted: Jerry Lang was elected President and John Ferrara was elected Vice President.  Plans are for the next reunion to be held in Fort Benning GA.  
  
  
• Banquet -- The day ends with a banquet and the awards ceremony.
  

Sunday Morning - June 18, 2006

• Farewell Breakfast -- An informal Sunday-morning breakfast concluded the reunion.
